Merry Christmas

Christmas time is the best. I love the Christmas music, lights, remembering the birth of our savior, and giving. This year was a little different without my sister and her family for they are off having fun in the land of Australia. We all missed them dearly and the traditions they brought to the family. Like the kids looking up to where Santa was or breakfast with the yummy french toast.

Christmas Eve was awesome. We started off with delicious dinner and then dad told the story of the savior. I have to say my dad is probably the best story teller. Then of course we opened our one present. What do you think it was.. we all got pjs. Wonderful comfy Pjs. Once everyone leaves we carry on the tradition of watching a movie before we go to bed, this year we decided to watch Bye Bye Birdie. That put us to sleep that night. I love the movie but it is pretty long.
(some of us were a little excited)

Christmas morning: I have no idea what time we were told to come downstairs. I just remember when we came downstairs and there by the Christmas tree was a Beach Cruiser for me. I love it. Has a cute little basket on the front. Along with amazing presents. My mom is a very good shopper and I love everything I got. Later I went on a bike ride, we are watching my sisters dog and so the dog came out with me and ran along side with me. I think she loved it as much as me. She was happy to get some exercise in. We went and saw Sherlock Holms. I really did enjoy the movie, even if I was 3rd row instead of center of the theater.

I really enjoyed my Christmas and I hope you all enjoyed it as well. Merry Christmas to you all! Weird 2010 is coming so soon. I hope you enjoy the rest of 2009.

Cookies

A few days ago I had the opportunity to make cookies with some of my favorite ladies in my home ward. Kalo, Sister Shelly Whitney, and Sister Cinda Morgan. What an adventure it was. We all got to catch up and just talk it was way fun. Shelly and Cinda both have boys my age that are serving a mission and it was fun to hear how they were doing.

Life has been so fun moving back home. I love catching up with the ward members and being with my old buds. I am so lucky to have such wonderful parents and great neighbors. It was hard for me to say good bye to all my friends at the Villa. But I truly believe I made the right choice of moving home. No one at the Villa can get sick of seeing me now. Poor family of mine. I love being close to them all. Whit and I get to chill a lot more now and its fun. We fight a little more with me being home. Luckily we don't hold grudges and laughing together 5 min. later.

I love my life. I am so lucky to have the people I have in my life! Thanks you family and friends. You are all so wonderful!

My BFF

I have a wonderful bff, she sticks with me through the good and the bad. We've been friends since 4th grade, at first we were not sure about each other but in the end we knew our friendship would go somewhere amazing and it has and still is. I am so grateful for her. She gave me awesome presents for Christmas. A cute headband, a banana cheesecake from cheesecake factory along with a gift certificate to Cheesecake Factory.

Thank you Valerie, I love everything you gave me.. Now I have to come up with a good birthday present for you. Love you girlie!

M.A.J.K.M.S

My favorite nieces and nephews right here. I was thinking...and I decided I wanted to share with you all the reasons why I love them. They are all different and mean so much to me. They do a lot to help me and make me feel better about myself. Few weeks ago I got to share a talk with my ward members. I got to share what I was thankful for. Of course these kids, they treat me like I am important in the world. When I have tough times I like to chill with these kids they help me forget it, even if it is playing; Wii, Barbies(yes I get that wonderful opportunity), cars, coloring, duck duck goose, ring around the rosies, ect. They are not only my nieces and nephews they are my best friends! Now I will share some lovely stories about them...hope their mothers don't mind. :)
He is the oldest of the bunch. Number one grandson and grandchild. He was born when I was 10 years old. Now he is 10 and I am 20. He is half my age, and I have been blessed with him in my life. He always laughs at my jokes, even when they are not funny. I think that happens a lot but he is nice. One of my favorite memories is probably when it was my grandmothers funeral and he sat by me. I was crying and sick, and he just leaned over time to time to tell me I was okay. And would rub my back. He is wonderful. Which reminds me of another time I love. He would get the pillows and put them in a line. Then he would tell Whit or I to lay on the pillows and he would give us a back scratch. He is the thoughtful type. And I love him so much. He respects everyone, girls love him. He always plays games with me and I never feel like a loser aunt when I am around him(or any others). I don't know where I would be without a McKay in my life.
Then there is a little girl named Abby, I remember the day she was born. I was at a middle school orientation. One thing I love about this girl she loves the gospel. When she talks about the plan of salvation she is the one that gets excited, she reminds me of Cydne. She has such a sweet and caring. For example, at Thanksgiving we play Bingo and you win prizes. Her little brother wasn't playing with us and when she won a third time she got a prize for him. What a thoughtful one she is. She is a creative story teller, she always puts a smile on my face. She loves her birds. These few next weeks I am babysitting them and she gave me instructions. I just want to share the list she gave me.
"Thing you will need to do
1. Have to have clean food and water.
2. Always have to have food and water
3. put blanket over the cage at night at winter time.
4. Don't take them out.
5. whistle to them if you can"
She is so cute, and she loves to write you little notes and draw you pictures. I always feel so special. She really takes her time on them to make them perfect. She is such a sweetheart. Where would I be without my Abby?

Little miss Josie, I was in 9th grade when she was born. She is a little comedian. I love to just be in the room with her. She just knows how to make you laugh, and she always says the most funny things. She loves to only wear dresses and loves her Fancy Nancy books. I love when she opens her presents she just gets so excited ( I think all little kids do.) She loves to do her own thing, she can entertain herself for hours. Last time I got to babysit, she was the happiest out of the group and loved everything I did. I love when little kids are like that. Makes babysitting a lot easier. She cares about her big sister Abby and wants to be like her. Abby was not happy that her older brother was cheating in Hide n' Seek that she was in her room. Josie went up to her and tried to make her happy. I then entered the room and tried to make her happy. Josie looked at me and said, "Abby sometimes just needs some space to herself and she will be happy soon." Sure enough we did just that and Abby was happy in just a few moments. She is a good observer. When ever I enter a room she always gives me a hug. I've never had a time where she hasn't. What would I do without a this Josie in my life?

Oh boy, isn't he just a cutie? I remember when I got news I had a new baby nephew. I was a senior in high school and in my film history class and got a text, it was the class before lunch and I was so excited to get more info. Little did I know what that little baby would be when he was 3. At first I didn't think he would like me at all. He was more into guys, they were cool. Well he gave in and decided to like me. I love how he says my name and he is my little buddy. He comes and plays at grandmas house time to time and he loves it. Well we all know its cause I am there. ha ha jk. He thinks we are all pretty awesome. He loves his Thomas and loves to be part of the boys. He just is so cute and photogenic(i think all little kids are). My favorite line from him, "so cool, huh?" and he will tell me when something is cute. What would I do with out Kimball?

I remember the day she was born, there was even a celebration from America. She was born on the 4th of July. She is a smartie. She is 3 and in preschool. She knows her colors her shapes...she might be even smarter than me. Just kidding, I think I've still got a few years on her. She loves when I play barbies with her or when we watch Strawberry Shortcake in my room on my bed. She loves when she gets to sleep over and we get to share a bed. She always makes me so happy when I see her. She is scared of my huge stuffed batman and keeps telling me, "next time I come over I won't be scared of it." But she always is. She still loves me when I prank her with batman. I know I can be a punk. But she loves me no matter what. Not that I have done anything super bad. She always gives me a hug and kiss. She is a wonderful singer and loves to sing. What would I do without Molly?

Stella oh Stella, she was born on the day I got to see David Archuleta and 9 other members from American Idol performed. She is now 1 and loves to get into my stuff. Its really funny. On Sunday I caught her in my scripture bag about to put a piece of gum in her mouth. Good thing I walked in then. She is funny, she loves being independent. She likes to give me kisses too. She lets me still hold her. I can't wait til she starts talking and I can get more of her personality!
I love all of these kids. I could say so much more stuff about them all, but that would be a very very long post. They are wonderful because of their amazing mothers and fathers. They are all wonderful! I am grateful for all these kids. They really run to the door when I enter or when I go to their house they are all so excited to see me. They love me, yay me. ha ha. I can't wait to see what other kinds of kids enter into this family. I know sometime in the future there will be too many to share why they are so wonderful so I thought I would do this now, so later I can share with them what I thought of them several years ago...we will see.

DECEMBER!

It's December, which means...Christmas Time. There is finally snow on the ground to make us all feel like Christmas is about here. I am more in the Christmas spirit than I was when there was no snow on the ground.

The trail to my house...

The Christmas decorations are up, the snow is on the ground and now I need to go out and do some snow angels.

the snow is there..

The Christmas Nativity is set.....

The Christmas Tree is up....
I love Decembers time, the feeling of Christmas, and what a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of the Savior. I am excited for the Christmas season. I will miss my sister McKenzie and her family as they head off to Australia to go visit Craig's family. But I have a feeling I will still have a fun time here in Utah with the rest of my family. Enjoy the season and I can't wait to hear what you are all doing this December!!!!

Life

Here is some funny things about what I've been doing or just funny things I've caught. Enjoy!!!!
Here is what I do when I get bored....I get on a web cam and take hilarious pictures. It passes time for me. And It makes me laugh, usually I don't share them with others. So you are special that I am sharing this.

This is my Best Friend Valerie Josine Fox, We do pretty much everything together. She has stuck with me for a very long time. She knows who I am and what I am thinking before I tell her things. That is someone I need in my life. Especially when she is such a good friend and listens to me. Even if it is over a stupid little story. Thanks Val.

Christmas Carol Night! I'll tell you something, I screamed in this movie. It's 3-d what do you expect? When something jumps out at me I scream so you can only imagine how embarrassed I was when I was the only one that screamed in the theater and my friends gave me a hard time. I still don't live it down.
Here is something I got from a missionary. I have mentioned I do have a missionary but I am going to explain a little more on the situation. Yes I have a missionary, but I told him I would date boys. There is no need for me to exclude boys from the 2 years, and plus you have to make sure its the right boy. Right?
This picture was taken a long time ago. I like this picture, 1. it shows how fun I am having with friends. 2. I love the effect it has on the picture and 3. That was probably one of my favorite moments of being Katheryn E. Baird.

I can't tell you the joy I find in this picture. My niece Molly really wanted to do Whitney's hair. Whitney decided to take a nap and let Molly play with her hair. I caught Molly doing this. She was pretending to do some kind of hair technique. But it looks different, looks like she is out to get Whit.
Girls Night?...Well it wasn't really planned but Whit, Val and I ended up buying these huge drinks each only 75 cents. Bought some candy and had a movie night. We really had fun and I think we all needed this night.
I don't know if you can see it but there is a bruise on my finger. Yes a very very sad bruise. I feel like I can't really use that finger. But it is functional. My friend accidental, smashed my finger between a table and a curtain at the church. But hey every time I look at it I get to think of my friend. And I hurt myself too much already that it just feels kind of normal.
I really liked my photography skills on this photo. This is a magic towel. You get it wet and wa la its a towel. Coolest invention out there...okay maybe not. But I really enjoyed this effect, and had so much fun watching it grow. I like to try to take photography pictures sometimes and usually, they don't work out. So you can only imagine how proud I was of myself on this one.

This is my favorite picture. There she is Whitney, and proof she actually cleans. Just kidding she is a very good cleaner. She has always kind of liked to clean. But I love this photo. It is after she just worked out and I love her face. Its priceless. She is my hero, she always helps me through my problems or helps me get out of them. She handles herself well and everyone who knows her loves her. She is going to do good in the world I know it. And I am so lucky to be her sister.
Well there you have it. Some of my insides of my life. I know they weren't amazing, I am not very good at expressing. But here are the thoughts of my life. Although I share often. And thanks for reading. I am enjoying the adventures going on in my life. The next adventure on my list is making a graham cracker house. Thanks to my friend Lyndi's idea. I will post pictures and blog about the experience. If you have any other thoughts of an adventure please share with me.

Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving, its the season of giving. The week of Thanksgiving my dads birthday hits sometimes on Thanksgiving sometimes not. So we get to celebrate that along with Thanksgiving all in one week. This year we had a little party the day of his birthday and the day after. We had a lot of fun. Part of his celebration my dad, mom, Cam, Sierra, Tanya and I went to Blind Side the movie. It was a wonderful inspirational story. A way to start off our thanksgiving.

My mother is in charge of Thanksgiving for the Baird family. The night before we got ready, surprisingly it wasn't as stressful as all the years we do it. When the family was all there, we ate and shared what we were grateful for and we can't forget the tradition BINGO! This is what most of the people are excited for when they come to Thanksgiving. They want to know what prize they will win. Everyone usually wins a gift not just one but up to 3. I think that is the limit we set. After some clean up some go play, it is all wonderful. I love the feeling.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving my family go shopping for a girl and a boy who need our help for Christmas. Its different every year. We all start with breakfast, yummy delicious waffles with the best syrup ever!! Then we get into teams...this year I had an awesome team and I won't lie we had the easiest list. My team was Whitney, Cameron, Mckay and I and we were after a sledding tube. Took about 2 min. no joke. We then helped other teams. What an awesome time. And then you know, we had to watch it. You know the blue and red fighting against each other. That's right the BYU vs. Utah game. and yes the team I was cheering for were the champions. I knew they would win. I was a little nervous in the end. But all was good.

There is what happened to me on this Thanksgiving Break. I am counting down the days when we will have Christmas break. Everything is a little serious in my house. Finals are pretty much here.
