Snow Bash...

Last week Monday, my sister Lindsay came down to finish a book about my Aunt Vickie who died at a young age. She has been working on this for a very long time. And I might add it turned it amazing! Good job Lindsay!! Well on Monday I got off work and had to drive in the crazy storm and went home to my parents. I walked inside to see my nieces little shoes. I love playing with my nieces and nephews. And when they come to visit I get so excited. Well I found out later Lindsay, Molly and Stella were going to sleep over. Well I had a blast watching the kids and just hanging with the family. What a fun family time!! :) I love my family I have the best family! Sorry to those who think theirs are...but mine are. I love that I am close to all my siblings and all the kids and in-laws. I love just being there with them.

Time for a change

Last night my best friend/roommate and I got the impression to change our room. We first started out with wanting different things. Then we went in and talked about what we wanted and agreed with everything. How nice, no argument or anything. I really wanted to change it that night, she didn't. We then talked about it and realized probably the night to do it. I must be like my mother..when I think of a new project no matter what time it is I will start on it. We moved our beds, dressers, desk, Valerie's stand thing and nightstand thing. Which trust me it was not as easy as I thought it was going to be. We had a blast of fun doing it. We picked out some posters we wanted to hang up in our room. And ways we could improve our room. I love our new set up. I feel its more us then the other way we had. Now when people walk through the front door they don't see my bed first..they see dressers. Oh I love it. I'll have to take a picture and post it. But we love it. The fact that both of us love it, is major plus. We finished with the project about 12:30am and didn't go to bed till like 1:30 am because we had to show our other roommate who was up, and got in a lovely conversation. Oh I love changes. Well most changes. :)

ROOMMATES!

This past week has been a little sad for our Apartment. We have 2 girls moving out, Katie and Ally. They will be greatly missed. They added fun to this apartment. Them leaving means we get 2 new roommates this coming semester. I can only wonder who they are and what they are like, if we will ever be close to them. Its hard to decide. Also my roommate Amber went home for the holidays to Arizona. I am so happy she will be with family but I will miss her. Along with my best friend Valerie Fox. Luckily she will be gone for a week then we will be reunited. I love my roommates, and I am excited for the new ones.
Another goal my roommates and I decided we were going to do this semester, is invite different apartments over each week get to know them and play games. I am excited for this event. I'd love to get to know more people in my ward. And what a fun way to do it.
Well the reason I wanted to share these things about my roommates is for them. I want to tell the ones that are leaving, I love them and will miss them. I want to tell the new ones, I am excited to get to know you and we are going to have so much fun, and crazy nights. And the ones that will still be here, I am excited to continue living with you girls and excited for more crazy adventures with you all.

Amber (roommates) Birthday

Us At PF Changs!

On December 4th Amber Martin turned 21! Woot! She is one of my beloved roommates. I love her, she makes this apartment so much better. Without her..we would probably not laugh as much. On her birthday we went to PF Changs and ate DELICIOUS food! Then we went to the playground by Orem Library and just played. With my luck I ran into a pole that gave me a headache for 3 days. Not a very fun thing. We all had a blast just playing. We were sad one of our roommates (katie) couldn't join us. Her soccer team had a big game. After we were done on the swings it was only 9. We headed over to Trafalga where me, Katheryn Elizabeth Baird, won them all in mini golf. Don't worry when I hit the ball, I have to tell everyone to move. ha ha, who knows where my ball will land. I was shocked I was the winner in the end. But that's not even the cool part...Last hole, the toilet seat, I made it! Which means I get a free game next time I go. Woot! Yay me! We had a blast. I just hope Amber had as much fun as I did.

1. Me being cute, ha ha that was a few seconds after I hit my head on the lame bar. 2. Valerie and I on the swings :) 3. Me and Birthday girl mini golfing it up.

Breakfast/Angel

The Saturday after Thanksgiving my whole Scott Baird Family gather to eat breakfast and shop for 2 kids who will not receive Christmas. One of my favorite Traditions! We start at 9 and have the most delicious breakfast (not close to Christmas morning breakfast, that's even 10 times better) and split into teams, which McKenzie usually splits us. We get into our teams and we get our job for one of the kids. The reasons why we do this tradition is 1. Giving someone a Christmas is the best feeling. 2. We do this instead of giving gifts to each other. Well this year we had enough to do 6 teams. Our team of course won. Just kidding. This is not a race. Although we did finish fast and got the cutest things for the little 18 month child. I just love having us all together and serving these little children. I got the opportunity to take them to the mall to give to the lady who will give the children what we got. My mom and I just saw all these names still on the tree and hoped that they will get picked off the tree and get served. I am so lucky that I will have a Christmas. There are people out there who won't, I am just so lucky! Team #1 Mom & Abby Team #2 McKay, Tanya & Sierra Team #3 Whitney, Cameron & Me Team #4 Kimball, Craig & Kris Team #5 Josie, McKenzie & Molly Team #6 Dad, Lindsay & Stella

Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving for the Baird's is AMAZING!! I have 9 Aunts and Uncles, one Aunt died at age 16. And this year most of my Aunts and Uncles came, We had a blast. We ate played Bingo, and then got kicked out. Turned out we had someone after us. Which was kind of weird, but Thanksgiving was a blast while it lasted with all the extended family. I have the best family in the whole wide world. And I love getting together on Thanksgiving and being grateful for all my family and more. What a good time of the year to remember all the things we are grateful for. I hope you all thought of at least 5 things you are grateful for.
My top 5 are;
1. My family, they all do such much for me. Always supportive of me. Push me to do better. They always show love for me no matter if I make a big or small mistake. I love them all.
2. The Gospel, how lucky I am to have the Gospel in my life. Thankful that my parents are teaching me the truth of religion. And having this gives me guide lines everyday. How lucky am I to have that?
3. Micah, my senior year I felt lost. I didn't know where I was going what I should do. My friends were kind of not my friends. I was always like 3rd wheel or 5th wheel. I felt I was not wanted any where. That is when one of my friends introduced me to Micah. Micah Wiederhold helped me feel cool again. He had become my best friend. He was such a great supporter. And he would and always sticks up for me. He made me myself again. And I am so grateful for that.
4. Roomates, my roommates this semester are GREAT! I love them. They always put up with me and always just let me talk to them about all the things going on in my life. I know they probably have worse problems, but they don't interrupt they just listen and help me through it. My roommate Valerie, is one of my BEST supporters. She is one of my best friends and she always listens. Even if it lasts till 2 in the morning.
5. Food and Water, these are things we need to live. And I am grateful for them. Things to make us healthy if we use them in the right way. We are lucky.
I had the opportunity to have my roommate Amber and my neighbor/family friend Airi over for Thanksgiving. I hope they enjoyed it. I loved having them there.
After the whole feast. My sister Lindsay and her husband Kris came over and we all got to hang out. Just talk about everything it was great fun! I am so lucky to have a family like the family I do. :)

Oh Ghetto!

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I was getting in my car headed for my house. Before I could go anywhere my car (ghetto) atomatically stopped. I tried to start it again, and nothing. It was completely dead. My mother got stuck coming to pick me up. Later that day my handy brother-in-law Craig came to try to jump it. Key word TRY to jump it. Ghetto wouldn't even start. I was sad, just knowing the problem was worse mad me upset. Well all week my sister Whitney got stuck driving me around. So thank you Whitney for putting up with me and taking me to where I needed to be. Yesterday Ghetto was finally towed to get checked out. I have not heard any news yet. I just have bad luck with cars. ha. And Ipods and phones. ha. I am hoping my car will just make it. I hope it is not dead forever :)

Twilight*

On Thursday night Valerie, Kirsten and I stood in line around 7ish to see Twilight. A movie based off of one of one of the best book series. We were 2nd in line. Yay. The lady next to us brought a 'Fork' journal to have our line sign it. We waited about 3 hours outside to get inside. Then waited 2 hours inside waiting for our movie to start. Around 9:30ish Lindsay, Whitney and Ashley came. They got to meet our new friends and we got to talk and then go inside. We went to the new theater, which I thought it was very nice. Well the movie was AMAZING! I loved it. I would love to go see it again, and can't wait to see it again. I think I will wait till the lines die down first.

Baw Chika Wa Wa!

Saturday night my roomates Amber, Ally and I had some fun. We started out by going to a surprise birthday party. I didn't even know the girl but I tagged along. I got to meet a few new people and just being involved was great fun.

After, we played the game of Phase 10. I have grown up with this game. I love it. This game can last forever! At the end I, Katheryn Elizabeth Baird won! Yay!! I was ahead the whole time. Poor Amber kept getting stuck on the same Phase.

When we finished the game we decided to pull a few pranks on Valerie. The first one, was that she was asked to sing a solo at church tomorrow. We texted that to her and she was in a panic. Then we hid in the room, waiting for her arrival to scare her. I hid behind my hamper, Ally hid behind the door, and Amber hid in my bed. We hid for 30 minutes becore Valerie showed up. She came in, and once she came in Ally started to laugh which made Amber laugh. Amber then told her I went to one of our Neighbor's house to get Valerie's solo piece. She really was about to cry when she heard this. Which then made them say there was no solo for her. I then texted her to check the closet. I was finally spotted. My body was killing with the position I was in.

Smith's! Oh Smiths! We went to smiths so Amber and Ally could get some food supplies for their dinner the next day. And I got to ride in the cart. I had people looking at me weird. I would just say hello. Some guy started flirting with me. After we watched the movie "Dang Yankees". Note to self, if I want a guy to notice me, go to a store and be in the cart. :) I love my roommates! We always have a blast!

Babysitting!

On Thursday night I babysat my sister McKenzies kids. I love babysitting these 4 kids they are all so cute in different ways. Never gets dull when I am babysitting. Well I get there and first kimball wakes up and makes himself bread with butter on it. Ya, caught that one when I walked out of the bedroom where Abby and Josie were. Oh this kid loves butter. There is a phone call, McKay answers doesn't know what to do and hands it off to me. It turned out to be one of Abby's friends mothers. Great me dealing with a woman with kids, don't know her or anything. They asked if Abby wanted to go play over at their house or have the friend come down. I had to put her on hold to call my sister if it was okay. Turns out that my sister's phone was in the room I was in. So I asked Abby, and asked her where she would like to go. Although I wanted her to go over to the friends house so that I didn't have to watch a child I didn't know. Turned out McKay had called his friends, they were over at the house in a flash. I was a little suprised to see 3 kids on the front porch. Turned out Josie and Kimball were my buddies. They are so funny. Kimball had McKay's guitar chair that rolls, and Josie had the seat that rolls, and their races began. Josie was loving the fact she was winning every time. Kimball before every race would blow me a kiss. He loves blowing kisses..when he likes you. We had great fun.View this montage created at One True Media

Tickets and now a MIA License

A few weeks ago I filled you in that I got a parking ticket. To be honest I don't understand how i got a parking ticket for one time I parked there and the same cars that are always parked there don't get one...interesting. Well I didn't pay my ticket in the 5 days, I ended up paying a 60 dollar ticket which pretty much robbed me of my money. I was really upset and that same day I found out my License went missing. I was very upset. I didn't get the chance to Vote because my license was MIA. My dad was a little upset for not being responsible and not getting to vote. I was sad not being able to vote, my first time to vote and i couldn't. Sad day. I looked every where for my license; car, room, garbage(that was disgusting) purse, pockets, ect. I just was not happy at all with what happened. Guess what I get to spend my money on this week? ..Thats right a license. Well I am glad I can learn from this experience....don't park anywhere, park where you know those crazy Ghetto searchers are. Oh and put your license back to where it belongs every time after you use it. I know once I get a new license and spend the money to get one that i will find my license. I keep hoping I will find it before I go get a new one.

Fun Times

On Fast Sunday my family all went to my parents house, along with Sierra's (sister-in-law) awesome mother Tanya and her sister and her family. We all had a blast of fun. My family is such a cool family. My niece Molly makes this really funny face and so Whit and I decided to get a picture of us doing it. We thought we were awesome. The rest of the Sunday my siblings and the ones married husbands and I all sat around the table talking. I love when we can all just talk. McKenzie and Craig told us all about their Halloween in California. Sharing funny stories is always a fun thing of mine that our family does. I love my family and I am such a lucky one to have a family like the Bairds.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

My roommates and I all decided to go to a later showing of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I had already seen it with Micah, but I was excited to see it again. One of my favorites. I loved the books I read them all, these are my favorite book series. I love the love between the 4 friends. I always end up crying because Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is always a touchy story. The one thing that made me mad was the fact they put book 2,3 and 4 in this 2nd movie. They followed the story okay. I wish it was more out there but i understand that would be a very long movie with 3 books all in one movie. Well all in all i loved the movie. Every time i see the movies i want to read the books again. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is such a great story of life and love.

Having One of Those Days..

I woke up late, never a good start. I then hurried to get into my costume and out the door. Guess what I found awaiting me on my car? First i was glad to see that no tow trucks got it, but the parking people found Ghetto. I had a parking ticket for 30 dollars. I was already runnig late and now I was just upset with the law, as I hit every red light to work. And since its Halloween Partyland is swarmed with crazy people which make me crazy. They are all demanding to their needs they don't care about the others around them or if they are being a crabby pants kind of a person. The hours went so slow but it was non stop busy. What a morning I had but what a rememorable morning it was. I am so glad to know that the days will get better. I know there are bad days but there are also the best days in my life. Those are the days I am looking forward to.

Prison Tour...

I took a Prison Tour today and this experience has opened my eyes to how lucky I am. We got to see inmates and I am so glad of the choices I have made in my life. When you first get in there they make you give everything up for 2 hours. No phone, no ipod, no money not even a license. They make you turn in your license take your keys and give you a visitor pass so they can keep track of you. Then they lecture you on what to do and not what to do. Millions of things were going through my head freaking out. Although I know I will obey everything they said you still get scared by swat teams with dogs...trust me. They took us to this place where they keep all the sex offenders, they only earn .40 cents a day, for this money they save it up for; education, tv, radio, chips, soda, ect. Then they took us to this room and showed us posters of all the gang members they have there and the bad things about gangs. These boys will take a toothbrush and a razor and put them together to create a tattoo tool or slash others that they can not stand. In this area they told us they have 3 generations all in Prison. Just cause they were all in the same gang. Then they took us to the work shop where they make license plates. Didn't know that License Plates were made in Prisons, along with signs for the state. They took us to another area where there were lots of cells and lots of people in them. One of the guys that took us on the tour told us that the boys act rude because they just don't know how to act. One of the Prisoners yelled "warning, don't feed the inmates" Which made every one laugh. Then some of the Prisoners start singing. They told us that is because they have nothing to do with being locked up for 23 hours. When we finished our tour we turned in our visitor pass for our license and then headed out. I thought it was so funny when they check you out at the gate. We had to show our license to them then they searched the car to make sure no prisoners were going home with us. I am so greatful for my family and there great choices.

I Am So Blessed

I am blessed with the best family ever. My nieces and nephews are so fun, and this past week i had an opportunity to hang out with my nieces and nephews and had so much fun. My sister called me one night to babysit and I was really excited. I don't always get the chance to watch her kids anymore. Well my mom called me right after to tell me i had a letter from Micah. So i went to my house to pick up my letter and drove to my sisters house. When I enter the room where my nieces and nephews are i feel like a rock star. They all come to greet me, you can just feel the love from all those kids. Well my sister said her goodbyes and we had hot dogs. Kimball had 2 and Josie refused to eat one. That is until she saw everyone enjoying them, then she had me get one for her. We all just sat there talking, there were noises that were scaring Abby and Josie. They started talking about robbers and then Abby started talking about how we are all sisters and brothers that Heavenly Father is our Father. That her mother and father were really her sister and brother. Then she started talking about the Second Coming of the Savior, she was jumping up and down and said, "I can't wait till he comes down again, where he can save us and all the bad will be doomed." This was very touching to hear a 7 year old talk about the Second Coming and getting very excited. After our little talk of the Second Coming, they saw my letter from Micah and decided to write him. Don't worry the boys were in bed fast asleep. The girls were to scared because they just watch Ghostbusters and thought the noises were from Ghosts. Well while they were making these pretty pictures we had a scare. McKay from no where starts talking. Some motorcycle had driven by and woke him up.

The next day I went to Salt Lake with my sister Whitney and my mom. We got to play with miss Molly and we brought these crazy glasses. And had some way fun times with them. Every time I held my niece Stella, Molly would grab my available hand take me to someone and have me hand off Stella so I would play with her. We went down in the basement and played in her playroom.

I love little kids, especially my nieces and nephews. One of my most favorite memories had to do with my nieces and nephews was my Grandma Francoms Funeral. I was sitting between McKay and Abby. Yes, i was crying real good. Abby was a bit teary and McKay was a bit sad. McKay leaned over and put his arm around me, and said "Katheryn, it'll be okay." Wow, i was so glad to have McKay sitting by me, giving me comfort. I know this kid knows the Church is true. Every time he talks about it you feel it. My sisters are great mothers and married great husbands, and they have raised there kids to be these amazing Latter Day Saints. Love you all!!

Scared!

One night I was invited by some friends to go to a secret hidden place to have a bon-fire. Well we get there and they tell us that there are homeless people who like to hang where we go to have this fire. I am already thinking great we are going to die tonight. Then i see this huge rock looking thing decorated with graffiti all over it. Okay now i know some others (no good news people) hang out there. So we are all enjoying the nice fire that you can't really get any heat from. Just laughing and enjoying ourselfs, then all the sudden I notice 2 black shadows on the top of this rock thing. I know you can probably guess where this is going. So i get up off the chair, which i was sharing with a friend who ended up on the ground. Tried to help her up and at the same time i just ran to the car. It all happened so fast i feel it took 2 seconds to get to the car. I thought i was in danger. I got in the car closed the door and layed on the seat. Good thing if they decided to kill us I think they would still get me seeing I just saved myself and i didn't drive. Well the guys came down and apologized. Ha silly me. Oh boy. But i was so glad to get out of that place. This place is very scary. And if you were in the position i was in you probably would do the same thing. But you know I know that Heavenly Father is looking out for me and loves me. I am such a lucky person!

Spider..

One day when I got home from work I noticed there was a Spider on the blinds in my room. I just left thinking it can't get out behind the blinds. Well Valerie (my roommate) and I couldn't sleep at night cause we were thinking this spider is alive and is going to attack us. We were frightened having nightmares, no joke. Well a few days later again coming home from work i saw it. I called Valerie to tell her the Spider is out of hiding. She kept telling me well kill it. K, I hate Spiders. No desire to get close to it at all. Well my roommate in the room next to me heard the whole converstation. She walked into the room grabbed the spiders with her hands. At this point i am so grossed out and like dying. Ew, its a spider and spiders bite. Well she let it free to nature. She hates the idea of killing any bug. Well then today we were walking home from church and I killed an ant not thinking. Lets just say she was not very happy with the choice i made. Oops.

Dress Up Bowling!

One night i was feeling crazy. I wanted to do something exciting. I knew all my friends loved bowling and maybe some miracle they would all want to dress up with me. Out of 8 friends that came with me 2 only dressed up with me. I was a little sad no one was feeling the vibe to dress up. I was just glad to see I had 2 friends that would support me in my decision. They didn't want me to be a loner and i know they are great friends. We had a great time and we thought everyone was having fun when all of the sudden we got ditched. No joke. Everyone that didn't dress up the 6 who didn't just walked out the door. We were so lost in what was happening but we all became greater friends that night. Knowing we had each other no matter what happens. I am grateful for Sam and Valerie, I am glad they would support me through my crazy times. You really find out who your true friends are through your rough times. Thank You Sam and Valerie!!

Poor Ghetto :(

One day i decided to park in a new place..somewhere where it could be easy to get out. I was so happy with the parking idea I had. The next morning I was headed for school, but i left really early so i could stop at my house to get somethings. Well I go out to this parking lot and I can't find my car anywhere. I had million things going through my head. Did my car get stolen? Who stole it? Where is it? I was in such a panic. I called my mother trying to hold myself together, telling her Ghetto (my car) had been stolen. She was upset, saying, "who would steal Ghetto?" My sister Whitney came to pick me up so we could take a look at the parking places. Well we went to that secret parking i parked. Sadly to say I saw 'the sign'. The sign read cars will be towed after 7am. Yes you guessed it, my car was towed. I was so scared to tell my mother, I knew she would be more upset. We went home as i worked up the courage to tell my mother. We had to go find my car and pay $150 to get it out of empoundment. I was upset and then i get in the car to drive out, and i sat on my only sunglasses and broke them. I still use them cause I don't have any other pairs and no money to get another. But now Ghetto is safe and I park it where I know it is safe from those evil tow trucks!

Moving out...

Ya! I did it! I finally moved out! Can you believe it? I love it and I love all the girls i live with. We all just get a long so well together. I couldn't ask for better roommates. Who thought that 6 girls could all get along great? I didn't and wa la...we do! I love it. There are days where we all sit in the living room and we all do our homework. I moved out with one of my best friends Valerie Fox and we do great as roommates. Some people say never move out with your best friend your friendship won't last. Well i think Valerie and I get along great living together. I am so happy we do, its made our friendship stronger and we have time to understand eachother and eachothers problems. There are nights we don't get to bed till like 2 in the morning cause of all our talking. Moving out helps you discover yourself and learn new things. And i am grateful for this chance I have.

Exciting day..

On July 15th my niece Stella was born. That same day i went to the American Idol Tour Concert with My sister Whitney and her friend Ashley. We had such great fun. Got to see the famous David Archuleta perform. I loved the contestants this past year they were all amazing and to see them perform live was very exciting. We were surrounded with older people and lets just say when we got up screaming and singing along and loving our experience, the man in front of us kept looking at Whitney and plugging his ears. I think it was suppose to be a hint of shut up girls. But that was the best day. Thank you mother and father for getting tickets so i could have an experience of a lifetime!
