Music Warms my Soul

Do you ever have that one song by Taylor Swift that makes your heart warm? Do you ever listen to Ingrid Michaelson loving every word she sings and thinking her voice is just so amazing? Do you ever Listen to that music that has the spirit fill your soul? Or when you have a bad day and you play "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper or "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas?

I love music! In my very early youth I was in a singing group called "Sugar n' Spice". I loved it, I sang solos. I know some of you out there reading this are shocked I ever did such a thing. When I was little I seemed to not be scared of anything. This group was awesome, I loved it. My ward member friends all gathering to go to our singing group. Wearing our cute outfits and sometimes they included props. For example paper plates covered with saran wrap attached to sticks. I loved singing. I did singing groups all through my school years. I like to sing my alto part and harmonize with the people who can sing so high. Probably one of the reasons I don't sing out loud much. Who knows If I'll hit that very high note. I know its a 2% chance.

When I was 8 years old I got this little tape player, I would take it EVERYWHERE! My family members could always tell where I was. I came with my own background music. I wish I had some pictures I could share with you with my ghetto tape player, but it was one of my favorite birthday gifts throughout my whole life.

I still love music so much. I love to just turn the music up and belt it. I won't lie. Its some kind of therapy for me. My friends and I would always do that. Just drive around and belt out the lyrics louder than the music was playing. We didn't always sound pretty, actually we probably NEVER sounded good. But we enjoyed it. I love music. I like the good stuff.

I totally know what you mean. There are just certain songs that you feel were written for you or about your life and situation. Love music and its ability to connect you to things.
