Calamity Jane

Yesterday I made Micah watch Calamity Jane with me. It is one of my all time favorite movies. 

It is about a woman who is more into what the men do. She dresses up like them, exaggerates on stories but is a total female. They say several times that she dresses like a man but she thinks like a female. There are several songs in this movie that I love. I told Micah I wouldn't mind the cd for my birthday or even a Doris Day Cd. 

Well after watching the movie last night it was fun to hear Micah break out singing the songs from the movie.

You have to understand I grew up on this movie. My family and I can quote this movie line by line. One of our favorite lines that just makes us laugh is, "to get danny"

I hope that when I have kids they will love this movie just as much as my sisters did when my mother introduced us to it.

"Woman's touch"

I love this song. It is a song of how woman make things nice, and Doris (calamity's) new look comes about. Sometimes I wish my woman touch was a little more nice than the one I have now. Still working on the make everything look nice. 

I know one day I'll get it down. 

And I hope its like my mothers. My mother has a very nice woman touch. One I wouldn't mind inheriting.

Disney.

I have always loved Disney movies, especially the classics. Some of the first stories from Disney. When I was little I would watch Marry Poppins and Beauty and the Beast everyday. No joke. I remember for weeks of me watching the movies and if I was sick, I watched them multiple times.

This past week Beauty and the Beast was released from the volt, which means I was there on Tuesday to buy it. I started watching it Tuesday but when you have to wake up early you should start movies at appropriate times. We had to stop the movie. Which is totally okay I am a grown up right? I can wait? That is what comes with the role? Patience? Micah promised we would watch it the next day. We decided to watch it at his house with his sisters, and boy it was much better than watching it the night before being so tired. Beauty and the Beast is still as good as I remember it and better! Had a few new additions to the movie I wasn't expecting, but I enjoyed it. Disney I love you and all the classics that you come with.

Twilight Saga: New Moon

I got to go see New Moon the day it was released, but I decided I was not going to go at the midnight showing but the noon showing. So much better. I was wide awake and could focus on everything. Midnight showings are a blast but you have to wait in line forever and then fight for a good seat. Our time was perfect people still in school and we didn't have to wait in line. We just walked in and picked a seat. It was wonderful. My sister Lindsay made me this sweet treat bag. What an awesome sister, thanks Linds. I really did enjoy the movie, thought it was 10 times better than Twilight. Which makes me sad because Twilight is my favorite book out of the whole series. But this one they all looked better and the acting wasn't so awkward. There is one part when it spins....i felt really dizzy and had to close my eyes. Oh and Jacob, what a hottie. Still an Edward fan though, even if Jacob is hott. What a great movie.
